Sanford-Brown-Ft. Lauderdale Students to provide Health Screenings

to Area Residents and Their Pets

WHAT:    &­nbsp;    &­nbsp; It’s easy to push health screenings to the bottom of a to-do list, but Sanford-Brown-Ft. Lauderdale is making it easy for local residents toaccess valuable health screenings this weekend at a community health fair on campus. Open to the general public, the school will offer a variety of free medical services provided by Sanford-Brown medical and dental students, including:

·   &nbs­p;     FREE Medical Screenings for blood pressure, glucose and cholesterol

·   &nbs­p;     FREE Dental and oral cancer screenings

·   &nbs­p;     A MyLifeCheck profile from the American Heart Association

·   &nbs­p;     FREE HIV testing courtesy of Holy Cross Hospital

·   &nbs­p;     Information on how to properly read a prescription

·   &nbs­p;     A blood drive sponsored by Community Blood Centers of South Florida

·   &nbs­p;     And much more!

 

Sanford-Brown veterinary technician students will provide health services for canine companions. The Feel Good Clinic will administer rabies & distemper vaccinations for $10 and will clean ears and trim nails for $5. 

 

All proceeds from the Feel Good Clinic will benefit the Humane Society of Broward County and the SPCA Wildlife Care Center in Fort Lauderdale
